Photography

Yes, well I suppose we all have an interest in photography and in that respect I guess
I am not very different to anyone else. Perhaps having worked as a Police photographer
makes me a little weird, but these days my interest is focused entirely on landscape. I
spent two years freelance before I moved to Mull and made such a perfectly useless job of
selling my own work, that these days my work is exclusively for my own annoyance. And no
doubt the world is a better place for that. And if I were honest, I don't seem to find the time these days, except when I feel the urge to tart-up the website.
I work primarily with a 6x7cm Mamiya medium format SLR, (RB67), as well as a 6x6cm Yashica medium
format TLR. For convenience I sometimes use my faithful old Canon A1 35mm or an old Agfa
twin lens 35mm. For the Internet, I stick to the basic simplicity of a 640x480 digital
camera. And no, I don't favour one above the other; they are all suited to different tasks. But for sheer quality of image, the Mamiya wins each time. But it is bigger than a house brick and weighs even more. On the other hand the digital camera, (a fossil now but state of the art, five years ago), demands no more than I press a button. I don't even have to bother to think anymore... I sometimes wish I were more motivated.....
